Saffira – luxurious merino‑silk dye base with brilliant sheen

Inspired by the sensual shine of a sapphire, our yarn Saffira is a true jewel among luxury yarns! It is a wonderful blend of high-quality merino wool and mulberry silk.

Merino wool is highly breathable, has excellent thermoregulating properties, and thanks to its unique luster and softness, it is one of the finest and most exclusive fibers in the world. Naturally, our merino wool is mulesing-free. This means that the animals are kept according to ecological standards, the working environment is safe, workers receive fair pay, and there is no child labor or excessive working hours.

Mulberry silk gives Saffira its ultimate luxurious qualities, both in appearance and touch. Although mulberry silk is a very delicate fiber, it is also highly durable. It is particularly smooth and soft, making it perfect to wear directly on the skin. Silk gives Saffira its glossy finish, making it strong, supple, and beautifully drapey.

Thanks to its moisture-wicking properties, Saffira both cools and warms at the same time. That’s why garments knitted with Saffira are perfect for both summer and winter. It is a natural yarn, completely biodegradable. It is also wrinkle- and tear-resistant, hypoallergenic, and very easy to care for.

To complement your knitting project and make it even more special, we recommend combining Saffira with Manada, our very unique blend of mohair, mulberry silk, yak, and merino fibers. By combining these two yarns, you will add a wonderful halo and a delicate touch to your project, not to mention softness, warmth, and of course a very special and unique shade of color, depending on whether you use similar or contrasting tones.

We recommend washing your knitwear from Saffira by hand in lukewarm water with a mild wool detergent.

Dry flat, preferably on a terry towel, to keep its shape.
