Balayage – Premium Dyeable Yarn Base in Baby Alpaca & Merino
Balayage is our yarn creation developed in collaboration with designer Melanie Berg (Mairlynd), now also available as an undyed version for professional dyers. The blend of 80% baby alpaca and 20% extra‑fine merino wool provides an exceptionally soft, even base that absorbs dyes beautifully and delivers a harmonious, naturally nuanced color appearance.
The fine fiber composition makes this yarn suitable for shawls and scarves as well as sweaters, cardigans, and textured designs. Multicolored patterns such as Fair Isle also work exceptionally well with Balayage, offering clear and crisp contrasts.
The combination of delicate baby alpaca and soft merino wool results in a yarn that is well tolerated even by sensitive customers. Its softness makes it ideal for direct skin contact and for baby and children’s garments.
For dye studios, Balayage offers a stable, high‑quality raw base with excellent color uptake, a soft handfeel, and versatile applications in the premium segment.

Pflege
Wash your knitted Balayage items (baby alpaca, merino wool) by hand, in lukewarm water, not above 30°,
and do not machine‑wash them.
Please use wool detergent only and dry your knitted piece flat whenever possible,
ideally on a terry towel to avoid deformation.
Hanging to dry on foam hangers is also possible, but never directly next to a heat source.
